As an entrepreneur, freelancer, corporate employee, or any other type of professional, you will probably have attended a variety of workshops centered around increasing or acquiring ‘new’ business skills. When we think about such skills, words like ‘marketing’ or ‘accounting’ often tend to come up, and obviously these ‘traditional’ skills play a significant part in your professional life. However, there is also an abundance of skills out there that at first glance might seem less obvious, but are in fact just important as most of these ‘traditional’ skills. That’s why Impact HUB Tokyo and Paradigm Shifters want to offer you a series of unique workshops that will allow you to acquire a set of essential skills related to: effective communication, adaptive leadership and team culture creation. The first of this series of 4 workshops will be held on Tuesday March 29th and will provide you with a fun, exciting and interactive way of boosting up these skills!
Workshop 1: Listening Fundamentals – March 29, 2016 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm
Various studies stress not only the importance of listening as a communication skill, but also that we spend about 45 percent of our waking hours listening. The bad news is that most of us are poor and inefficient listeners as studies have shown that we often comprehend and retain only 25 percent of what we hear.
The good news however, is that there is a way to improve your listening skills, namely through the process of active listening. This first workshop will focus on practicing active listening, which is an essential skill that will enable you be more effective and efficient in your (business) communications. The benefits of joining this workshop include:
- Becoming a better communicator
- Developing better relationships
- Improving productivity
- Becoming an effective leader
